Drove to Bournemouth yesterday morning with Jo to a dog show in which Keskiyo came 3rd in his class but placed 5th in a stakes class against about 50 other dogs of all breeds. Fantastic result. Then Keksi went on to get shortlisted in the Junior Stakes as well.
But it's Keskiyo who really put the Lappies on the map as far as the Stakes classes at major champ shows are concerned. As a pup he became the first FL to place in a puppy stakes, the 1st to win a puppy stakes, the 1st to place in junior stakes and the 1st to win one of those as well. Every stakes class he entered he placed in, or was shortlisted at the very least. Now, it's normal for a Lapphund to be shortlisted. I guess that's because they're just so damn cute!
Of course the hope is that his offspring will accomplish even more at the shows than he has. We shall see...
So, enough of the graphic gunge I served up to you all yesterday. Sorry about that, but it's not all cute stuff when it comes to puppies. Nonetheless, we're well back in the realms of cute today. Here's how they look today - haven't they grown! Aren't they enormous!
And, the big news is that yesterday morning TWO of the babies had their eyes open. There was one of each sex, but a winner will still be declared because one was clearly more advanced than the other. Ah, but was it the one I expected to be first...? All will be revealed on Thursday. In the meantime, vote, vote, vote!

they look massive now! can't believe how much they've grown in such a small space of time - good news i suppose :)
Just compared them to the similar picture from last week when they were next to Neka and it's amazing how much they've grown!
We had to remove the bars from the sides of the box because they puppies are so big they were getting stuck!
