happy new year

I had to post an update on the date 1-1-11, so happy new year to all our followers from the 2 people and 11 Finnish Lapphunds currently residing here at Infindigo!

I feel a bit sorry for the puppies around this time in their development. They're just not cute enough. Kidding!

The reason I feel sorry for them is because they're going through the pain and discomfort of teething. In the daytime while they are playing they are chewing each other's faces and paws, and even their own paws. In the evening when they get over-tired and are trying to settle to sleep, they get very, very noisy. They are obviously in some pain and cannot seem to get comfortable. They lie down and then suddenly jump up whining and pace around the box for a bit. Poor little things. I always look forward to this phase passing.

It's a phase that puppy-owners everywhere will recognise. These little guys will go through the same thing again - only worse - in a few months as the adult teeth start to come through. It's a trying time for puppy and owner, but at least they can get some satisfaction through chewing. With these tiny ones you can only hope the pain isn't too bad as they don't really have the faculties for useful chewing yet - they're just learning to chew by practicing on each other.

Budgie gearing up to chomp Kicker's nose - and check out the tiny teeth!

Vee getting one over on Kuusi.

And, finally, proof that the play is sometimes quiet - at least until mum turns up and stirs everyone up again.

Stay tuned - I've been collect tiny-new-puppy-teeth photos.

How wonderful. Lots of face chewing going off and then Junior does a "Keksi paw" :-)
